Sneak Peak-2010 Symphony Show House-Teenage Girls Room

The starting point:

Jed Johnson Home "Jardin-Aquamarine" Fabric that will be curtains & bedhangings

Dash & Albert "Stone Soup" Woven Cotton Rug

Sister Parish Design "Burmese-Seafoam" fabric for pillows and table skirt

In preparation for a photo shoot for FACE Magazine, the bedrooms at the Traditional Home of the Acadiana Symphony Orchestra Showcase of Homes are beginning to take shape. It was very exciting for me to receive the photos below after the two areas of my Teenage Girls room that will be shot were installed on Friday by Emily Svendson with the help of art hanger expert Kevin Klump.

I have to admit that doing kids rooms has historically not been my thing. But I have had a great time designing this traditionally driven girly-girl room in shades of soft pinks & greens. Benjamin Moore's HC 117 Hancock Green is the wall color and the two main fabrics (shown at top) in the room are by Jed Johnson Home (www.jedjohnsonhome.com) and Sister Parish Design (www.sisterparishdesign.com), New York boutique fabric lines that I now rep.

Those fabrics plus Dash & Albert's "Stone Soup" Rug from W Home Furnishings gave me a great start as Emily & I began finding furniture, art, & accessories to complete the room. Traditional, yet whimsical, casual yet dressy, were our design goals as we shopped. From the looks of these photos, I would say we achieved our goal!
