Traditional Home--Symphony Decorators Showcase of Homes

The Traditional Home of the 2010 Acadiana Symphony Decorators Showcase of Homes has taken traditionally based Louisiana design to a whole new level. Four designers partnered with the very best vendors to create a sophisticated and classic environment in a four bedroom, four and a half bath, approximately 4,000 square foot LaFosse Construction home at 410 Biltmore Way in Lafayette. You only have a few more days to experience great design and a wonderful shopping experience (everything is for sale!) so plan to come out Thursday, Friday, Saturday from 11-5 or Sunday from 11-3.

Here are my favorite rooms in the house:

Gerilyn Roth & Laura Netterville for Gerilyn Lytal Roth Interiors:

A fantastic dining room showcasing fine antiques from Au Vieux Paris Antiques and Lucullus Antiques mixed with pieces from Albarado's Fine Furnishings, Renaissance Market, and Le Marche Antiques.

I love the balance of painted finishes (mirror from Au Vieux Paris and chandelier from Circa Lighting, one of my favorite resources) with wood tones (dining table from Au Vieux Paris, trellis-y back chairs from Albarado's, sideboard from Le Marche).

And with access to antique china from Lucullus Antiques, who couldn't set a gorgeous table like this??

Master Sitting Room & Master Bathroom by Paige Gary Designs:

We should all be so lucky to have a room like this off of our bedroom...I, in fact, would love it, hint hint.

Paige Gary chose a wonderful color by Benjamin Moore, Rushing River, for both the Master Sitting Room and the cabinetry in the Master Bathroom...this same color was also used for the Syrie wallpaper by Studio Printworks, a wonderful New York based wallpaper company, used for dramatic effect and to give a focal point to the large master bathroom.

With access to a private collector's antique decoys, Paige wonderfully styled the bookcases in the sitting room. A pair of antique chairs from Lucullus Antiques, round antique table from Au Vieux Paris Antiques, and rug from Cyrus complete the elegant setting.

Teenage Girls Room by Jeffery McCullough & Emily Svendson for Jeffery McCullough Art & Design Consulting:

I envisioned this room as a sophisticated teenagers room...a room that isn't too pink and girly and one that will appeal to a teenager through her college years and even beyond.

Swathed in a fabulous Jardin print by Jed Johnson Home fabrics the room boasts a pagoda style gilded bed by Annie Selke for Vanguard Furniture and Dash & Albert rug, both from W Home Furnishings. Custom window treatments, bed hangings, and couture pillow on bed are all by Pauline Hayden.

Crystal lamps from Max & Company in Atlanta serve their purpose of providing a well-lit space but do not steal the show from a wonderful mix of art by Ramsey Gardes Ayers (mixed media collage over left bed-side table), Mallory Page Chastant (pink abstract over W Home Furnishings reading chair), Kelli Kaufman (pastoral minty green landscape to right of front window)

And finally, Jodi Bolgiano of Bolgiano Custom Finishes:

Jodi strategically opted to show a still traditional but a bit more transitional side of her designs in this girls bedroom. Using a custom headboard of her own design and the "Bling" Chandelier from Lamp Designs in River Ranch, Jodi went to town with whites, soft greens, soft blues, and just pops of pink and oranges only in the art by Anne Mcleod and Caroline Chunn McCarthy, both artists represented by Rue du Pont Galerie in Breaux Bridge.

Styled to the nines, the room is tres successful in showing that with a touch of brocade (bedding), bling (chandelier), damask (lamp shades on bedside table lamps from Dunn's Designs), a girly-girls room can be tailored and traditionally based, yet still have a bit of fun!

Don't miss out on seeing a house like Lafayette has never seen before! Open this Thursday/Friday/Saturday/Sunday and then sadly over..
Tickets are $20 and include viewing of all three properties in the 2010 Acadiana Symphony Decorators Showcase...

I will be working all four days and hope to see you there!
