Artists are the soul of a community. The energy and beauty that comes from the gifts given by artists of all kinds is palpable. Without artists all places would be the same--dull and boring. You actually can't turn your head and not see the handiwork of talented individuals who devote their life to presenting all of us something that is part of them. Buildings are designed by architects and constructed by craftsmen. Homes are made livable by product and interior designers. Yards and parks take shape and form because of landscape designers. My examples and lists could go on and on. But it is the artist that builds a palate from which to dip paint that has the chance to bear their soul on a canvas that gives the greatest gift of all.
I have had the privilege to work with New Orleans artist Mallory Page for nearly three years now. I can tell you that every piece created by this brilliant artist comes from somewhere deep inside. Mallory's work has been described by gallerists as being "raw and emotional", "calm and soothing", and "evocative." I could not agree more and am very happy to present a special one-week only offer that Mallory Page has created in "Collected" which is a representation of the first few exciting years of life as a full-time artist.
From Thanksgiving day until December 1st, 20 pieces will be 30% off. Now is the perfect time to purchase a Mallory Page for yourself or as a Christmas or Hanukkah present. This post is kicking off a series of blog posts I am doing between now and New Year's day with my selections for the best resources and ideas for Holiday shopping of artists studios, galleries, and locally owned shops. Mallory Page Studio at 614 Julia Street in New Orleans is a great place to start! To see all of the pieces in the "Collected" online show, please go to www.mallorypage.com. To see pieces in person, an appointment must be made for a studio visit with Mallory. Don't miss this opportunity to own a Mallory Page! 2012 is just around the corner with lots of very exciting news and developments for Mallory so now is the time to get the piece you've held out for.
Below are my personal favorites of "Collected". For more info on any of these pieces as well as pieces on Mallory's website, please contact me me at jefferymccullough@hotmail.com.

What a wonderful offer!I have loved the subtle romance of Mallory's work since I first discovered her paintings here. The colors and fluidity speak to my own love of water, and the pieces in her Collection are especially beautiful. I think the first Marsh Scene is my absolute favorite.
