Julie Breaux at Gallery at City Club-Lafayette, LA
Diversity and fearlessness are often the keys to a great artists success. Such is the case with Lafayette, LA, painter Julie Breaux. Not afraid to tackle any subject, Julie strikes out with bold use of color and variance of technique when a canvas is placed before her.
In the current show at Gallery at City Club in Lafayette, there are eight acrylic on canvas pieces that demonstrate Julie's ability to mix it up a bit in style, use of color, and size. From 9" x 12" to 24" x 30" and from $150 to $725, the talent is on display:

Autumns Orange
Acrylic on Canvas
24" x 30"
$650.00
Painting for seven years now as a full-time career, Julie Breaux has thrived under the direction of teaching legend Pat Bourque. Many venues and shows later, Ariodante Gallery (www.ariodantegallery.com) in New Orleans has tagged Julie for the October show at their gallery on Julia Street in the Crescent City. On the road to great success at Ariodante, Julie's work is sure to be under the watchful eye of collectors in New Orleans and across the country.

Lady Blue
Acrylic on Canvas
20" x 20"
$450.00
Inspired by masters Sergei Bonart and Jackson Pollack (could you get any more diverse?) and contemporary painters Sabre Esler and Anne Neilson, Julie Breaux is truly prolific. More than not in her home studio (what a fantastic little building she has!) and in her Wednesday lessons with Bourque, the paintings fly out the door and into the hands of area collectors.

Pretty Poppies II
Acrylic on Canvas
18" x 24"
$475.00
On view through Thursday, October 2nd at City Club are the three paintings featured here. A second show of Breaux's work is at Rue du Pont Galerie et Studio in Breaux Bridge. This Sunday from 2-5 pm, Rue du Pont will have a closing reception/open studio afternoon which is a not to miss Lafayette area event.
And in November/December, Julie Breaux's work will be on show at Darnall & Sikes in Lafayette.
I wasn't kidding when I said she was prolific!
